8/50 - A post about nothing

It’s well after 10 and I haven’t written my 100-word post for today. I did some other things, though. I did laundry, and I stoked the woodstove, and I noticed that the almond blossoms are already falling off the neighbor’s almond tree. I drank coffee. I rested my sore hands. I drew a picture of my friend J, which you can see here. I haven’t drawn anything in a long time, and I had fun with this. I think it’s a fair likeness. It was really a pretty lazy Sunday, and while I wasn’t particularly productive, I’m good with it.

That sounds like an excellent Sunday to me. You had me at woodstove and almond blossoms.

We had a sunny day and it made it feel warmer than the 38 degrees it was--I walked around the yard looking for signs of green springing up.

Sounds like your Sunday was a lot like mine. Except I didn't do any drawing. I'm not good at it, but you are! It's great. Has your friend seen it yet?

Blue Girl: My friend J saw it this morning, and she called to tell me she loved it and thinks it looks just like her. I was pleased -- I think so too.
Patrick: Yeah, the daughter comes by her artishness honestly, but she's wayyyy past me in terms of skill, training and talent. I'm very proud of her.

What a treat for her, knowing she's has a friend who would spend her time drawing her.

Wren, I love your drawing. It reminds me of old comics--the kinds that were in the funny pages when I was a kid.

We colored Easter eggs yesterday. Three dozen! That's a lotta egg salad.
