Inspiration in odd places
After zipping down-mountain to take my daughter’s fiancé to the doctor following his shoulder surgery, we stopped at Wal-Mart for a prescription. As we were leaving, we passed an elderly woman with a little dog.
“What a cute dog,” I said.
“I walk him a mile every day,” she beamed. “And I just turned 90!”
“No! Really?”
“Yes!” she laughed. “I stay real busy. That’s how I do it.”
“Well, happy birthday!” I said. “That’s wonderful!”
A second elderly lady joined us. “I just turned 90, too,”she grinned. They were obviously friends.
“Happy birthday to you, too!”
Now that’s inspiring.

I just read a new (to me) description of Wal-Mart - it was called, "Mao-Mart". I like that.
Knowing you live in a place that gets warm (hot) I would guess the little old ladies are more that a bit robust, hale and hearty types.
Me, when I'm 90 I want a beach chair, umbrella and a handsome wait staff to bring me tasty goodies and a few gin and tonics.
My Dad turns 87 this September. I hope he'll be tottering around Wal-Mart and elsewhere when he is 90. He still plays golf twice a week, and poker once a week. He lives in his own house, gardens, cooks and cleans for himself, and reads a novel a week.
